Jackie O’s Brewery - Sustainably Crafted with Purpose

Based in Athens, Ohio USA Jackie O’s Brewery specializes in brewing techniques that revive traditional methods & incorporate contemporary elements & influences to brew one of the most diverse beer portfolios in America. Their barrel aging program is expansive, with a detailed & unique focus on barrel/wood aging & blending of beers and craft.

For nearly 9 years, the Craft Beer industry showed me the importance of sustainability, consumer education, growing large-scale production and most importantly, how to pour a proper pint.

In my roles from bartender to creative director leading a dynamic team – the focus was always on logistics for scaling, cohesive brand development and innovative visual storytelling.

Brand Development

Developing a brand style guide and establishing core branding colors with assets that customers could easily identify allowed for collaboration with local artists and community involvement.

Through user and market research, we further developed the ethos of the brand and how a rapidly growing brewery was perceived in the market.

Packaging Design

With the overall creative direction from head brewer, Brad Clark, developing the brand ethos and packaging was an ever evolving project.

Working with local artists and collaborations, designs ranged from label artwork, sourcing of UV reflective labels, boxes, cases, building and vehicle wraps.

Creative Strategy

Working to maintain the company motto of sustainability, minimizing our footprint left behind whenever possible. At its core, Jackie O’s is made up of cross-functional teams which I worked across on a daily basis – marketing, distribution, farm, bakery and brewers.

Providing direction across various departments, designs and project management ranged from:

  • Delivery timelines, project roadmaps and H1/H2 strategy

  • Point-of-Sale Display Designs + Implementation

  • Social Media & Regional Marketing Campaigns

  • Packaging Sourcing, Ordering + Design

  • Merchandising, Event Promotional Planning

  • Outreach and Sponsorship Development

  • Photography, Video and Vehicle wraps

Side Project: Craft Operation

While working in the craft beer industry, I saw a gap in the market for connecting customers with product locations. This has always been an uphill battle for any business, and Craft Operation is a software that solves that by connecting the craft product world.

Seamless Integrations

Starting on a brewery level, we scaled the platform to integrate into industry-leading platforms to validate information, pull retailer reviews, analytics reports, automation, and most importantly a hassle-free solution to finding products.

  • Filter by product owner

  • Filter by location type (restaurant / retailer)

  • Filter locations with certain products

  • Search by product and product owner

After A/B testing with breweries, we continued to innovate and bring it to both small breweries and full-scale distributors. Allowing each product owner under a distribution company to have their own product finder web page, which can be linked to from anywhere.

With no extra work a distribution company could offer a significant competitive advantage for each of its clients – connecting Customers and Products with a “BeerFinder”
